Rank-specific hat (Pack will supply this)
Rank-specific neckerchief (Pack will supply this)
Rank-specific neckerchief slide (Pack will supply this)
Scout short or pants (optional)
Note: Lions (program for kindergartners) do not wear a Cub Scout uniform, but rather a Lion t-shirt and hat.
We have two local scouting shops where you can purchase uniforms, patches, and books for each rank. We also have some gear available each year for scouts to use/reuse. The Northern Virginia Scout Shop sells uniforms with several of the required patches already sewed onto the shirt.
How to put together a uniform:
GEORGE MASON DISTRICT
George Mason District is part of the Virginia Central field service area in the National Capital Area Council. It is the home to 45 scouting units, serving over 2,000 youth in the areas of Vienna, Falls Church, Fairfax, Dunn Loring and Oakton in Fairfax County, Virginia. Additionally the Learning for Life program in the district has 2 units serving over 65 members. See events calendar for activities.
The Advancement trail
Cub Scout activities are centered around earning badges that are specific to each school grade level. This badge represents a rank. Advancement refers to the progress a Cub Scout makes toward their badge of rank. All of the activities for each rank are in the Cub Scout handbooks.
