Falls Church, Virginia Cub Scout Pack 657

Cub Scout Pack 657 has been serving families in the Falls Church area since 1951. The pack has been rated a gold unit under both the current Journey to Excellence standards as well as previous Quality Unit assessments.

The pack is chartered by the Falls Church Presbyterian Church and is a member of the George Mason district of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of Scouts BSA. Many years of dedicated volunteers and generous sponsorship have allowed the pack to develop quality programs that are models for other units in the area.

Examples of Annual Programs & Activities

  • We are one of the few remaining packs that conducts an annual CubMobile race (think soap-box derby.)

  • The pack carries out many community service projects every year

  • Two cleanup activities per year for the City of Falls Church

  • An annual tradition of Scout-made decorations & donations to a local homeless shelter each December

  • Two cleanup days each year to support our chartering organization

  • Active participation in Scouting for Food, and many smaller projects led by individual dens.

  • Two annual family camp-outs.

  • Monthly hikes of between 2 and 6 miles at various DC-area trails.

  • Participation in summer camping programs at Camp T. Brady Saunders

  • Traditional cub scout activities such as the Pinewood Derby, the annual Blue & Gold banquet
